Is Energy Healing Biblical?
Is Energy Healing Biblical?
How do we know what is biblical? Good question. The answer is not always easy or black and white, but when it comes to energy healing, I think we can find pretty clear guidance in scripture.
The Bible tells us that God is a healer (Exodus 15:26). And Jesus made it clear that he came to heal the sick (Matthew 4:23). So if God is a healer and Jesus came to heal the sick, then surely healing must be biblical?
There are also many examples of people being healed in the Bible. In the Old Testament, we see people like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob being healed of their physical ailments. In the New Testament, we see Jesus healing people of all sorts of diseases and afflictions - from leprosy to blindness to paralysis.
So yes, I believe energy healing is biblical. It is based on the belief that God is a healer and that Jesus came to heal the sick. And we have plenty of examples in scripture of people being healed of physical ailments.
Energy healing is a controversial topic. Some people swear by it and say that it has helped them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Others say that it's unnatural and not based on anything in the Bible. So, what's the truth?
There are a few things to consider when trying to decide if energy healing is biblical. First, we need to understand what energy healing is. Energy healing is the use of energy to heal body, mind, and spirit. This can be done in many ways, including but not limited to: hands-on healing, color therapy, crystal therapy, sound therapy, and Reiki.
Next, we need to consider what the Bible says about energy. The Bible talks about energy in many places. For example, in Genesis 1:3, God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. This shows us that God is the source of all energy. Additionally, in Colossians 1:17, Paul says that Jesus is "before all things, and in him all things hold together." This shows us that Jesus is the sustainer of all energy. So, from a biblical perspective, we can see that energy is good and comes from God.
Now that we know what the Bible says about energy, let's consider what it says about healing. In Mark 16:18, Jesus says that signs will follow those who believe, including "they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover." This verse tells us that Jesus himself believed in the power of laying on of hands for healing. Additionally, Acts 3:7-8 says that when Peter laid his hand on the man at the gate of the temple, the man was healed. This verse shows us that not only did Jesus believe in this type of healing, but his disciples did as well.
So, what does all this mean? Does it mean that energy healing is definitely biblical? No. But does it mean that there is a strong possibility that it could be? Yes. At the end of the day, it's up to each individual to prayerfully consider whether or not they believe energy healing is something that God would want them to do.
